I find the 666 and beast stuff somewhat interesting, but I wouldn't bet
the farm on every conclusion jumped to by various individuals or put any
of it on the level of Gospel truth.
What can we do with this? Should we go out and buy stock in 666 gadgets
because everyone will be required to have one injected or imprinted into
his or her forehead or right hand? If this idea turns out to be wrong,
then stock in 666 devices will go down and crash because nobody will
want or need them. If the idea is correct, then our stock gains will be
of no use unless we intend to take the implant and sell our souls to the
devil, because without this device, we will not be able to buy or sell
anything--stock included.
There are some other ideas--perhaps investing in the breeding of
different colored horses or bowls or materials for making scrolls.
I am more inclined to invest in other areas--for instance companies that
produce antibiotics for plagues or companies that build things like
asbestos bottom boats and flame retardant materials. Investing in bait
would be a bad investment. Hell comes complete with the worm that dieth
not, so folks need only buy one worm when fishing in the lake of fire
for fried fish, and that worm can be used for all eternity making
ordinary bait obsolete. And, even if I'm wrong and
this turns out to be a good investment, I don't intend to be around
to collect my profits on such an investment. I'd rather invest in
harps.
I know I'm poking fun a little--ok, more than a little. But, believe it
or not, I, too am a Christian. But, that part of scripture is symbolic.
To me, 666 does not mean gadgets but rather a comment on the completely
sinful state of mankind. I know my own sin was adequate to send me to
hell without the help of a barcode, tatoo, or
computer called a "beast". And, running scared from these things will
not help if I'm looking to make a good investment or to keep my
soul out of hell. The best I can do is put my faith in the Lord and
for my investments, diversify, and try to invest as wisely as possible.
