Lind -Waldock - is only trading FX from the States - the Forex
traders in the UK are under the supervision of the SFA which is
checking the capital adaquacy - last story I heard. Union Cal is
owned by a Merchant Bank - however we have seen some of those going
belly up as well.
It seems however that US Forex companies are under no supervision
whatsoever which is propably why some very small companies are
mushrooming there.
If one wants security you have to go to the banks which rip you off
unless you deal in size (>5 M$)
There are always some trade-offs.....
