Thanks to several helpful people who pointed out the obvious solution 
of putting SP in Data1, and writing the system to generate signals 
based on Data2.

Duh.  I knew that.  Guess this database crash (and the resulting 
winning trade that turned into a loser as a result of what turned out to 
be a false signal) has me so rattled that I'm not thinking straight.  I'll 
shut up for a while now.  :-)
