Dear Randy,

There was a stream of comments on the Omega list about a month ago re
running TS on NT.

I recently got a third computer, a P233, on which I installed NT 4.0
Workstation (which I bought off the Internet for around $79). TS ver 18
installed seamlessly and runs flawlessly on it. I recommend the
combination, as did all the others who commented about it.

One proviso, however, is that like many others, I don't install or run any
other application program in any computer that runs TS --- in other words,
that computer is dedicated solely to TS (and the Internet). That, perhaps
more than anything else, seems to have cleared up what recurrent operating
problems I have experienced with TS, such as random crashes.

One detriment to using NT, as opposed to Win98, is that with NT one must use
a multiple-monitor card in order to use more than one monitor
simultaneously. This disadvantage can be alleviated somewhat by using one
large monitor, such as a 21" one, instead of multiple smaller monitors.

Sincerely,

Richard Josslin
