NT4 Tips

In June 97 I had Windows 95 R1(Fat16) and I installed NT4 with no problems.
It automatically created an autoboot selection between WIN95 and NT.
I installed Service Pack 3 with no problems.

My NT4 and TS hum along just nicely, without the stability, reliability and
GPF problems of WIN95. NT4 is SO STABLE!

I had the login problem which cheesed me somewhat, however, if you download
a program from the Microsoft site called "Powertoys" for NT, it gives the
user the option to have a login or not. Now, my NT just logs straight in
without a problem. Handy for power failures and the Omega Server, right!
Anyway, I have just read in a magazine that Microsoft have now released a
NT4 "Options Pack". I is the progressive upgrade between NT4 and NT5. For a
single PC user like me, it's doesn't have much, but if you have networked
and internet based PCs then the "Options Pack" sounds dynamite!.

Looks like WIN98 is really good for games, internet and so on, but its
backend architecture is just an upgrade to WIN95. If you get NT4 and just
hang on until Q199 for NT5, I'm sure NT5 will blow WIN98 out of the water.
