It seemed like there were at least 450-500 people there. I was very
impressed with TS and OS 5.0. The first morning keynote was by Bill Cruz and
the demos were live, no crashes.
The top three features for me were:
1. The Global Server, replacing the Omega Server. All of the data setup and
management appeared complete and seamless.
2. Activity Bars - You can define (in EL) whatever you want to be a bar. It
is completely open-ended. You can make all of the bars you've seen in other
products, like MetaStock, such as Renko and Three-line break bars. And you
can plot things like volume or tick data at each price point of a bar, so
you can see where the largest price interest is (generalized Market Profile
idea for any security). Or Bid Ask volume in a like manner! There will be
whole new avenues of information presentation and exploration available. Who
knows what unique insights will be available to TS 5.0 users with this. Talk
about an edge! This single feature will keep Omega Research leading the
pack.
3. DTN feed - Finally good real time data at a much better price. What I am
paying BMI $300/month for, I will be able to get from DTN for $173/month,
$127/month savings!
I am very excited for the release.
