Tims post was right on the mark. I've also worked big and small and on
both sides of the phone post. A little respect goes a long long way.
Tim's point about finding brokers and desks that you get along with is
excellent. If you have a bad relationship or a bad taste in your mouth....
find a new desk to do business with.
There is no way that you can escape the occasional bad fill if you trade
illiquid or fast markets. It is part of the cost of doing business. On
the other hand if you consistently get hooked, stay away or change desks.
