Robert and crew,
This is software, not a system or methodology. It is intended, if I have it
correctly myself, to assist traders as a tool. It will do nothing without the
trader's implimentation and application of his own ideas regarding the markets.
Specifically, in answer to the question "Why?". I can think of two good reasons:

1) To earn money by using existing programming skills that few posess.

2) To assist others by giving them a better tool to do their work with.
(A less common and often questioned motive for doing anything these days)

There also is a third reason that I can think of. It follows suit with the
existence of this and other traders email lists, seminars, forums, brokerages
(with trading rooms), etc. that is: 3)to gather and associate with people who
share a common interest or goal. To communicate, exchange and thus learn while
exercising the natural trait of "being social". Trading and research have many
commonalities, one of which is; it is usually done alone.
I don't think that this good software called Tradelab (which I have) will
identify any profitable patterns within the markets. But, over time of the
learning curve, it sure will allow me to do so.

What can you take with you when you're dead? That is the Question.
