I use both DialData and Compuserve.  Compuserve is expensive - but it does
have some advantages (like an historical database for mutual funds that's
adjusted for distributions - and clean continuous futures contracts
histories).  Haven't had hardly any problems with DialData - and it's
cheap (I know that people complain about it - but in the databases I use -
mutual funds and general market indicators/indices - I rarely have a
problem - and - when there is a problem - it's obvious - like a misplaced
decimal point).

You didn't mention what kind of data you want - or how you plan to use
it.  The best data vendor for you might be different than the best data
vendor for me.

FWIW - I generally download at about 6am EST - so I don't know when the
databases are updated.  And I use the Downloader from Equis - which
downloads from both services in Metastock format.  I'm sure my setup is
out-of-date - but if it ain't broke....  Robyn
