<DIV><SPAN class=880420801-28021998><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2>The
thing of real interest to us, in these new operating systems is that there is
support for running multiple monitors, through the operating systems
itself.&nbsp; You can simply plug two or more, generic PCI video cards (even the
$30 variety) into your computer and windows will install all of
them.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

<DIV><SPAN class=880420801-28021998><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2>Unlike
existing (and far to expensive) multi video systems, the Windows (98 &amp; NT5)
will allow you to configure the monitors to all display the same content or
display a virtual desktop of any configuration, the interesting thing is that
you can have every screen set to a different resolution or color depth, i.e.
have a 17inch 1024x768 16m colors next to a 14inch 640x480 16
colors.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

<DIV><SPAN class=880420801-28021998><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2>The
only downside is finding enough interupt (IRQ) address to support the extra
video cards ( most pc's have 16 interupt address, these allow devices on the
system to communicate with the cpu, each device has an interupt i.e keyboard,
mouse, floppy, hardisk controller, parralell port, sound card etc, and you may
find that most of your interupts are allready used.&nbsp; I disabled my sound
card and my secound serial port, to free up 3 extra IRQ's I need to run 4
monitors on my system.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

<DIV><SPAN class=880420801-28021998><FONT color=#0000ff face=Arial size=2>Dont
worry about the techno bable, just pug a card in and try it, windows will
automatically install it, and if you run out of IRQ's it will tell you, and then
you can just remove other devices to make space for it.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

I have SC 2.1 and need to do a re-install.

My no 1 disk of the set is defective, due to me spillling some coffee on it.
Could a kind soul out there, please e-mail me the files on the no. 1 disk??
I know it's a big attachment, but really would appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance
