I'm an SC2 alumn using SC4. I upgraded only because I had to have internet
support for data downloading from my remote, communications disadvantaged,
mountaintop. SC2 will in fact no longer be useable with data beyond 12/31/99
and there is no indication that Y2K fixes will be posted for non-current
versions of Omega products. SC3 and SC4 crippled the ability to write
complex EL code. If your "investment in intellectual property" is Easy
Language code which includes any semi-colons ";" your only option is to
upgrade to TradeStation with the Power Editor (or arrange with someone with
PE to compile your code). If you have no semi-colons, then you will have no
problems with SC4. Without semi-colons you can't write EL code with inputs,
variables, or any kind of complex structures and nested conditional.
