Buffett surely knows what happened to Hunt. One can assume that he would
not repeat Hunt's mistake. Most everyone is assuming he is planning to
run-up silver and sell. I'm speculating that Buffet and his insiders my
have other reasons or plans for their silver build-up. They may be
expecting this bupkiss fiat money to suddenly devalue to the same state as
the ruble or they could feel we are in danger of a market crash. Maybe they
are going to follow in Henry Ford's footsteps. Ford at the start of the
depression closed his factories and paid a handful of security guards to
keep an eye on them. Ford then went to his estate and waited out the
depression. The depression never effected him in the lap of luxury of his
manson. When the depression was over and he felt that people could afford
to buy his cars he left his estate and fired up his factories again.
