Stupid I agree, but I can think of several explanations. Based on the
rumor I have read on this list, I suspect that DTN support is somewhat
expensive. TS was faced with pulling off resources from TS 5.0 to work
on DTN support, so they requested help (i.e. $$$) from
DTN, and DTN declined. So Omega tied DTN support to TS 5.0.
I have a short history with TS, but I suspect that TS 5.0 is at
least 18 months late. If TS 5.0 had been delivered 12 - 18 months
ago, we would not be have most of the discussions that are
occurring on this list.

The answer is to create a great upgrade and ship it. Hopefully TS 5.0
is that upgrade. No matter how good the competition, it is *very*
difficult to unseat the #1 product in any category. Take a look at
Quicken and MS Money. Microsoft has been pouring money and
resources into MS Money for years, and Quicken is still #1. Remember
the battle between Word perfect and MS Word. It took a paradigm
shift (DOS to Windows) to unseat Word Perfect. At this point I don't
think that Omega has screwed up bad enough to lose the #1 slot.
Take a look at the battle between Netscape and Microsoft. Microsoft
is making progress, but only by tying the brower to Windows AND
giving their product away! I have no particular love or hate for TS.
As a consumer who is making my living trading the markets, I
encourage any competition that provides me better tools and
services. But I don't think TS will be as easily unseated as some
on the omega-list assume.
