DDE Livechart problem - still

I am still struggling to get tick-histories out of the server. Bob
Brickey claims that he did it with Build 20, Signal Server, Win
3.11.

I am running TS Build 20, Signal Server, Win NT WS4.0. Excel95 7.0 and I
don't want to go back to Win3.11.

Still commands like
=OMEGA_SERVER|LIVECHART!'ANYSYMBOL,03/20/97,1,1,1'

return just a list of the last tick continously repeated.

Has anyone apart from Bob Brickey ever retrieved a proper
tick-history out of the Signal server via DDE and how did he do it ? Perhaps
I am just too stupid.

I repeat the previous conversation with Bob and Michael Joyce further
down.

BTW: The API documentation which I had a look at (Version: 1.0.6
Date last modified:09/09/96) looks very different from what is
written in the server handbook.

If anyone has got any fresher documentation - I would be most
grateful for an update.

As Bob has frequently pointed out that the DDE is non standard -
however I don't understand why only tick histories don't work with
livechart. Minute charts seem to work.

Thanks,

Gerrit Jacobsen

I was using TS 4 Build 20 that I upgraded to last weekend. Maybe
there was a problem in earlier builds. It is difficult to imagine a
64KB memory limit being hit while tranmitting only 3500 ticks or so.

I just tried the command again. It still works fine here. If the
difference is not due to Build 20, maybe there is something different
about the setup of our TradeStation system compared to yours and
Gerrit Jacobsen's . It also might be due to different Windows
versions or Windows setup. I am using Windows 3.11 on a Pentium
computer with 32MB of RAM and 94MB of virtual memory.
