You're welcome ,Lionel!

I myself have The Downloader 9.1?

point 9-11 are not enabled in my version, but I think I did not explain it very well in English.

When you open a folder in the downloader (open yellow icon on the leftsside? or File/Open), you are in a window named OPEN.

In that window you see above-right two yellow icons. One is for making a new folder and the other one for going one folder backwards (the yellow -one with the "enter-arrow"). So you can follow point 9-11, or just do what Harry suggested. Go with the explorer to the folder you deleted the data in, click on it and delete it!

Kees:

Thanks for your suggestions.

Instruction 1 ? 8 were the key. Once I emptied the undesired folder I was able to delete it in the normal manner.

 Instructions 9 -11 are not enabled with V 9.1

Accessing the Select Securities dialog:

Folder X was fixed in place and couldn?t be deleted. I then went to the Data folder , selected folder X and used the delete key. MS is now working normally.

The process for deleting  a folder seems to be:-

1.       Empty the folder

2.       Go to the date folder , select the now empty folder and delete it.

Thanks again Kees,

Lionel

Lionel,

Deleting folders.

1. open the downloader.

2.click on Tools, Delete  and than to the right on Securities.

3.browse to the folder you want to delete.

4.click the first security

5.hold the shift-key.

6.scrolldown to the last security.

7.click on the last security.

8. click on delete.

9. click on one folder back( yellow icon with arrow)

10. rightclick on the folder you just deleted the securities in.

11. click on remove.

Accessing The Select Securities Dialog.

1. OPen the Downloader.

2. click on Tools/Download Prices.

than you are in the SElect Securities Dialog where you can add or remove folders with securities from you main datafolder.

After that safe your selection and give it a name.

This all is "normal"stuff for an Metastock-user I think, so I don't know exactly what your problem is?

Hope this helps after all.

Regards, Kees Takkenberg

Subject: [EquisMetaStock Group] problem deleting a folder

I am using MS 9.1, it is a legal copy, Windows XP, and Quotes Plus as my data provider.

I am trying to delete a subfolder from my data folder. The first time I tried to simply delete the folder from the data list. Big mistake. When I opened MS I got an error message that folder X could not be found. MS hung up, I could only close it down. I finally had to reinstall the deleted folder in order to be able to run MS. I have deleted folders in the past without any problems.

1.       How can I delete a folder without causing other problems?

2.       How can I access the ?Select Securities Dialog? (page 61 Downloader Manual)

Thanks for any suggestions.

Lionel
