Metastock downloader will handle the dates best if they are set to 31/12/1997
when you import. Have a look at the options.
Its my understanding that Metastock format stores a 1 in front of the shortened date.
eg
1971231
But this should have no bearing on your import - but your vendor may have
exported it with the extra digit which will upset the Downloader.
Solutions:
1. Ask your vendor to send it in metastock format! Easy
2. If he can't (which would surprise me) what you probably have to do is write a
small macro in excel to put the date back to normal format dates by stripping the
extra digit.
