This is something new for me.

Can someone point me in the right direction for more information on VMware
and using a virtual machine to perform Metastock operations better?

A happy new Year to all,

Lionel

Ah I see! That's a feature built into Metastock for version 10. It's
designed to stop you using a copy of the software on more than one
machine.

There are a number of threads on this subject here..

In VMWare, as you probably know, can clone the environment and copy it
to another machine and run it there. Software vendors wishing to
exercise stricter control over how many copies are used per licence
have introduced a means of detecting whether the software is running
inside a virtual machine.

This is not really something you can work around but as a legitimate
licence holder I would write to Equis with your complaint nevertheless.

best regards
Rob
