For whatever its worth, if a person wants to use that system which you have developed, free of charge, continuously, all he need to do is to store his data a couple of years behind.

In my opinion, what you need to incorporate is a lastvalue(cum(1)), and limit your analysis for the bars which are (e.g.) 50 bars prior to the number of data points loaded.

I have no experience with cracking MS password protection, but from what I have heard, its pretty sound. But then, please remember, where there is a will there always is a way, especially with passwords and hacking/cracking.

Subject: [EquisMetaStock Group] Password-protected exploration/expert - is it safe?

I have created an exploration and wanted to share it with a trading
friend. However I wanted to limit the exploration usage (sort of a
demo version) to only period prior to year 2005 so I have included the
following codes in the Filter.

DayOfMonth()<2005

When I export the formula files I have also password-protected them.

My questions:-
1. Is it correct to use the DayOfMonth() function as above to limit
the exploration to period prior to Year 2005?

2. Can the password-protected formula files be easily "cracked" by
other user? In other words are my codes safe from prying eyes?

Thanks & best regards,
ALM
