Investment banks tend to make their profits from excessive client fees
& margins, and not so much from smart trading. Average funds, with
their index-weighting and hidden fees, are not far behind.
Generally speaking, institutional ingrained thinking is slow to adapt.
It's like the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
Hedge funds are becoming more adaptable, and are more prone to use T/A
than traditional funds. If the trend continues, hedge funds' holdings
will eventually overtake traditional funds'.
