The primary advantage is you don't have to navigate up and
down each folder.
The disadvantage is it goes a little bit slower, since
Windows doesn't perform very well with that many files in one
folder.

I just bought Metastock 9.0, so it should support 8000 securities
per folder. However, what is the advantage to having all securities in
one folder?
