Hi Al,

You can find a list of Metatrader Brokers at:

http://www.metaquotes.net/profile.htm

Alpari (English site) is at:

http://www.alpari-idc.com/.

Download the Metatrader setup file and install. First time you run it
it will allow you to open a demo account. You must renew the account
every month. For historical data you can export in .PRN format, and
use Metastock Downloader to convert. You can also use Hypertrader
Online Downloader to download historical data real time while you are
updating via DDE/Metatrader.

Download Metastock/Metatrader version from:

http://www.hypertrader.it/freetool.shtml

It has a few quirks. Do not download using the "number of bars"
option, rather use the "from date" option. Also, if your Metastock
file start and end times are from 00:00 to 00:00, it will not work.
Use 00:00 to 23:00 for 1 hour data, 00:00 to 23:55 for 5 minute etc.

Metatrader DDE syntax at:

http://www.metaquotes.net/metatrader/ug_dde.htm

You must enable DDE in the Tools > Options Menu in Metatrader.

Alpari codes:

S & P cash: _SP500
S & P contract: #EPM4

Hope it works for you.

Hendrik

accustomed to so I have no problems with it.
