You might see from one of my other posts that I managed to solve the
problem. The fault lies with Equis. In "The DownLoader - User's
Manual", "Creating Custom Symbol Lists for the Symbol Database", they
specify that symbol files must be stored in:
..\Program Files\Equis\The DownLoader
There are, indeed, symbol files in that directory. But they are not
seen by the program. The program looks in:
..\Program Files\MetaStock\The DownLoader
However, it's nice to know that one of the established gurus on this
newsgroup not only makes mistakes, but admits to them in order to
assist other people.
