Richard, the best solution I have is based on the URSC plug-in kit.
http://users.bigpond.com/prominex/Tools/URSC.htm
With the aid of its stock-filtering function, I can keep my stock
database in any folder configuration I wish, yet I can create and
isolate my own multiple personal favourites stock portfolios
- for both system testing and exploration purposes.
These personal favourites lists are stored in simple external text
files, and unlike MetaStock's favourites' dta file, are transportable
and non-volatile (safe).
