uhehs, what data collector program are you using to pull the
eSignal data? Do you have Metastock Pro and just use the Downloader?
Or are you using another program?

filtering because of wrong data!
<SPAN

where I was about 12 months ago.

[IT WILL SAVE YOU FROM PULLING YOUR HAIR OUT!!!]
<SPAN

<SPAN
>I started off using
Reuters EOD to update all my local data [folders or symbols I created on my
hard drive]. The answer to your first question is to run the downloader
to update to the most current day.
<SPAN

<SPAN
>I used to go into
each individual error, and decipher if it was a symbol change, something that
was bought out and no longer exists, etc. Most of the time the exchange
added an “E” or a “Q”, etc. Well, that took some time every
night/week/month, but I was confident I had the best data hands
down!!!
<SPAN

<SPAN
>NOW, all I do
is………..[I dropped Reuters] and am updating my local data through my eSignal
subscription. I update my symbol list once a month and spend some time
on that one Saturday or Sunday setting up folders to explorer on for the
following month.
<SPAN

<SPAN
>There still remains
some errors etc when doing this, but that updates symbol list normally filters
out bad data. Truthfully, all you need is a handful of stocks in your
outputs for you to trade/study/system test, etc. I’ve even heard of
people who have stuck to five stocks, or other instruments and have traded
them religiously for years.

size=3>Hi All,
<FONT face="Times New Roman"

<FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>I have finally started little bit more in
creating my own formulas <IMG height=18

<FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>Problem is that once I ran Explorer, I
got exactly wrong than what I expected!<IMG height=18

<FONT face="Times New Roman"

<FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>I did "Open chart" and charts don't look
like what I expected. Furious and frustrated for some time, I double checked
my formulas, and finally went back to chart. Looking at data window bruoght up
potential problem. All charts which showed up wrong were only updated till
03/01 or in the vacinity of that day. So problem is
<FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>
<FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>1> how one can make sure that all data
used in exploration has complete set of data?
<FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>2> I have so many errors on my
downloader report, probably everyday with errors like "Unknown symbol", and
"Collection aborted-timeout error" - which I think is the cause of missing
data. I couldn't get in touch with Equis support - site just didn't respond!

group and find out
<FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>1> You guys ever had similar problems
with downloader?
<FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>2> How do you handle such issues, I
don't want to delete securities because of previous errors. Could any filter
be created that filters out securities based on "good data present" condition,
and pass these securities to main exploration?
