I agree
wholeheartedly. Metastock in a Nutshell is designed to take the beginner from
the point of confusion about SmartCharts and all that weird stuff to where they
are able to use the software productively. I checked it out it when it first
came out and decided it had nothing to offer me at that stage - I had already
managed to climb above the confusion and was looking for some meaty stuff on the
real issues like code writing etc.

it 3 years ago when I tried to reverse engineer someone else's bit of
Metastock code so I could understand how it worked and how to write my
own.

Metastock properly is Martin Pring's two Metastock training CDs.
Roy's book has nothing to do with Metastock in a Nutshell. Anyone who
thinks Metastock in a Nutshell is what they need has absolutely no use
