Note that if you buy Metastock this way, make sure
that you are getting a ___blank registration card___ in the box. If you
don't have the registration card (or haven't sent it in), Equis probably
will not provide you with upgrades or support etc.
If the original owner has already registered with
Equis then Equis will probably be well within their licence agreement rights to
refuse to support you.
For the record, Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO) also
do this with their routers if you purchase them second hand. All you are
purchasing is the hardware - the software you need to repurchase. For
unsuspecting buyers, the software is usually a massive cost compared to the
so-called bargain they've picked up on the hardware.
