I have
spent some moew time today going over your problem of not being able to convert
XL history file back to 1900 into Metastock. I have succeeded again in the task
(but not without some fiddling with formats etc). Rather than bore this Group I
will email you directly with an ASCII text file for the ticker XAO (Australian
All Ordinaries) and a Metastock binary .dat file together with three gif
files showing the settings for the three dialogue boxes for the downloader that
worked for me. Will send email later today.

[EquisMetaStock Group] downloading files from excelI
don't know what i am doing wrong. I changed the custom format to mmm/yyyy
and used the downloader - convert.in options i used monthly.i made
sure first date was blank - it had / / still in
thereit then came up with yellow triangle and 900 errors of warning
2074which is: unable to convert numeric data.the file only went back
to 1930 - which is frustrating as i want to look at the great depression
and the decade leading up to it.I then tried putting first date 31/1/1900
- same resultRegardsPeter Radovan--- In
