This
all depends on what you are striving for. There are two different answers
depending if you want to exit when the low crosses below the MA's of the low
intraday or on the close of the day it happens. The first one requires the
use of a stop or a stop limit order. The second
doesn't.

In
either case, for your entries you also may want to make use of the delay feature
in the Enter Long/Enter Short window within the tester itself (this is different
than the screen you mentioned). For example, if you want to enter on the
open of the next morning based on a signal of the close of today, you set the
delay to 1 in the enter long screen (look towards the bottom of the box) and
then set the strategic delay to "open" with a zero delay (on the screen you
mentioned).

[Metastockusers] System tester
questionHelloOn MS 8.0 system tester i'm not
sure i understand the diference in the stretegic delay under the buy, sell,
sell short and buy to cover tabs and the delay opyion found under System
Testing Options/ Trade executions tab when you click off Realistic market
price. What if i wanted to enter a trade wwhen the close rises above the 5 day
mov avg of closes but exit without a delay when the price drops below the 5
day mov avg of the low. do i have to take the opening price as the exit. I
don't know if this clear but any thoughts would be welcom.
