No, I don't know the answer. But I do recognize that it can be a problem and I've found that Equis/MetaStock support is very helpful. Their email support is generally less than 24 hours, and if you go to their on-line support you are connected directly to a support analyst. (All on weekdays, during working hours, SLC.) Only change that I'm aware of recently is you now need your customer number for either one, which means second hand or bootleg copies don't get support. You can get some good dialogs and excellent answers from them, and they are responsive for technical issues. However, for some of the other problems - they are out in left field. For example: I create my futures portfolio in an order where grains are at the top of the folder; livestock next; food and fiber next; etc. I use UA/CSI to create these folders in this order (very easy to work with by the way), and The Downloader keeps them in this sequence too. However, MetaStock re-sorts these files automatically without giving you the option to leave them in the sequence they are in, in the folder. This causes problems for futures traders like me. Do you think that Equis listens to this type of problem. No way. Their answer was for me to rename my files with leading numbers in order to get them in my preferred sequence.
So, back to my point, they are great for specific technical issues but have deaf ears when it comes to supporting ease of use.
