Hi Debra,
Yes, you can do all those things...but you have to define what you are asking
for in precise terms. For example:
1. a breakout from congestion
Close 1 point higher than the highest high of the past 30 trading days.
2. heavy volume
Today's volume >120% of the highest volume for the past 30 trading days.
3. price gaps in the direction of the breakout:
Today's low> 1 point above yesterday's high = +1
Today's high < 1 point below yesterday's low = -1
