Preston,

I forgot, one of your questions.  The whole enchila
is purely mechanical.

This Sunday morning, I attended a MetaStock seminar
concerning version 8.0.

Very good presentation.  And finally - finally MetaStock 
is catching up with me.   They now have system testing 
that will employ multiple systems vs multiple equities.

It was not clear how or whether optimizaation was employed.
