[Metastockusers] Stocks with a life of their own

Carlos,

Here are the clips from the Explorer with my comments
inserted in the { }. Note that I compare the 13
period EMA's of the SPY to the group of securities I'm
running this against. I thought that would capture
overall trends and eliminate minor one or two day
fluctuations.

First, set up a new Explorer.

In the comments window, this is what I have:

------------

Comments:

I'm trying to find stocks that have no correlation to
the overall market (i.e., the SPY) to trade {one could
also use to find out how high the correlation of a
stock is to the S&P}

also have an ave volume of at least 1 million and are
trading at least at $40

-------------

Column A

Mov(
Correl(
 Mov(
  Security(
   "C:\metastock data\spy",C),  {note this is the
directory where YOU keep your SPY security and the
symbol for the SPY - so please adjust it accordingly -
note also that the " " quotes need to be left in
there}
 13,E),
  Mov(C,13,E),
2,0),
100,E)

{In filter tab}

Mov(VOLUME, 20, E)>= 10000

AND

CLOSE >= 40 {you may want to adjust the price and ave
volume to suit your own needs}

==========================
Hi Pring,

I will be interested in looking at the
explorer/exploration using the correlation indicator.

Will it do the same as a relative strength analysis?

Thanks,

Carlos.
