I find that as I draw the cursor slowly through the bottom of the chart
window it changes to the style used when positioned over an indicator. Then
I click on the (unseen) indicator and delete it, rescale it, or whatever is
appropriate. Easy after a little practice.
This method obviously will not work for an indicator that returns N/A for
the entire chart, but opening the indicator builder and correcting the code,
or substituting a known value for the defective output, will allow it to
display so it can be deleted.
At other times an indicator returns an error and won't display, and I click
the wrong option in the error report instead of removing the offending
indicator. To get the error report to show again scroll to the next chart
then back, then select the delete option.
