When you update to QP2, version 2.2 you will find we have added an
integration with Excel. We use an xla. Once you set it up, you just click
insert, function, user defined. You will see a bunch of QP2 functions
available. You can do some comparing with Excel and some with HGS
Warehouse. We have 3 kinds of variables for the scans, integers, floats and
strings. You cannot do string compares in the QP2 Scan Database and we do
not have arrays. We have made improvements in the past three yearsn to the
2.2 program. Most of these would be to our most recent release, version
2.2. We have added some functions to Scan Database and we have some of what
you are looking for in the HGS Warehouse. The HGS Warehouse is a new
feature of QP2. You use filters instead of scans. Instead of typing in
criteria, you just click and a drop down menu offers selections. When you
click OK, it just takes a few seconds to get the list. There is an RS rank
and group rank. You can select stocks based on their group or sector. If
you select by sector, you can sort by group in the list. You can open QP2
lists or save the results as QP2 lists. This means you can use the HGS
Warehouse, Excel and Scan Database, together or separately to select the
stocks you use when you create the Mestock files. If you need help setting
up the filters for you industry sectors/groups, let me know.
