Erwin,

If metastock would run under Linux (without the Windows emulation)
we wouldnot be depending on microsoft or ?
( for the moment i donot think equis (metastock producer) will develop
a linux version because they are too microsoft oriented)

If you run Linux in another partition and you would have a crash in
Internet explorer on your windows partition switching to linux with another
browser gives you the ability to surf again much quicker then recovering
from the
IE crash so for user the ability to be independent of any OS surely has
important advantages .

The stability of W2K (NT5) versus W98 ( believe it or not but yesterday i
got
only 18 MB free HD space after a CD burning and W2K didnot crash ! and
restarted
without problems (W98 would have been long dead on 18 MB) is also
important.
XP (NT6) will of course also be better for trading because of greater
stability.

For those who donot know : W2K and XP are -really- New Technology (for once
microsofts marketing is right about something) compared to these W95 and W98
are
inferior.
