I have listened to all of the advice. I have 512 MB RAM, 30 GB hard drive.
Despite numerous clean installs of SE from the upgrade disk, my system would
lock up. I used a memory tester overnight with no errors. For some unknown
reason, perhaps my motherboard or the BIOS, SE just does not work on my
system. I have never been able to figure it out.

I have begun to loose track of the thread. But, do you have enough space on
your hard drive to accommodate the new program? Do you have enough memory
(RAM), perhaps a minimum of 128MB and preferably 256-512?
