John,

Quoting: "The trouble with Yahoo Clubs is it is web centric - i.e. you need
to go to
               the web site to post"

I don't quite think that is true. I belong to about 5 "clubs" that started
out somewhere else (eGroups) and are now part of Yahoo. You have to go to
the web-site to join and set up your preferences (individual emails sent to
you vs. web browsing only) and if eMail selected, then whether you want them
sent as plain text or HTML format. After that, all you need is your eMail
client.

It has been so long since I've been to those sites on Yahoo, it would
probably take me a few minutes to figure out how even to find those "clubs".
I get a steady stream daily of eMails forwarded to me from the "club" and I
send my eMails from my eMail client, so those "clubs" are functioning as a
list-server. Perhaps you didn't set your preferences correctly?
