You may wish to try the Start, Run and type in SFC and then click OK. This
is a Windows 98 system program that will check all of your System files.
Prior to this you have an option of setting it to list also files that have
been changed. These are due to new programs being installed and or
malfunctioning operation (where files are erroneously damaged).

While you run this it will stop when it finds files that have been changed
or damaged. For damaged files it will ask you if you wish to replace that
file. If yes insert your CD with the program installation files and proceed
as instructed.

My experience has been that in some cases the file is not damaged but you
have has an invalid page fault in that particular file. In this case the
trouble lies elsewhere. I do backups each weekend so that I can replace
files with backups that were functioning at the time of recording them.

Good luck!

Probably a corrupt file.
Kernel32.dll is a small file (746KB). Find out where the file should be in
your system. [Start, Search, Files] Then, get a copy by Internet as an
attachment of the DLL from someone with ME or, if you have the disk, copy
and paste (replace ) the existing files. This should solve the problem.
Better still, change to W2000.
