This is not common in Win95.
It is common for not properly configured machines.
This properly then could be due to:
-badly installed hardware (in the BIOS and WinOS's Control Panel etcetera)
-insufficiant hardware (MEM+VideoCard etcetra)
-badly installed software (WinOS and inluding the wrong and/or too old drivers versions)
-bad disk maintenance
and most likely always due to insufficient hardware.

WinME gives user a few extra's on graphical moulding + viewing capabilities.
But its core is still 9.x and that is an as solid as a rock OS.
Most people just don't know how to properly configure + maintain the 9.x OS's.
Here at home I'm still running Win95 and haven't re-installed since early 1997 !!!!!!.

It will most likely be due in the Summer of 2001.
Its core is Win2k which on its turn is actualy an upgraded version of NT4.
Haven't heard or seen any problems with Trading & Charting Software being used
on all of these OS's, apart from some minor hic ups that are "common" due
to these T&Csoftware manufacturers selling bugged software {MSK tho, runs well
on all OS's}, and therefore do not expect any problems on the new Win2kPE platforms.
