List,
Well this sure has been an interesting ride down, especially since we were
long. And yes, I do admit taking a major loss on this trade.
Anyway, we have decided to switch to a different signal (which we have been
testing for months), which had this last sell signal, unlike our current
trading system that had us on the long side. We tend to paper trade these
modifications for months before making a switch and since our regular system
is still running at 75% correct (approx) and has been working for over a
decade, it's hard to move on. We will continue to monitor it, but this new
indicator appears to be more sensitive in this market and so we're making a
major system change. We have decided to concentrate on just one (H700) of
our Intermediate Term Signals as opposed to a combination of 4. We'll see
just how smart that is.
In testing the last 29 months, it ran 78% correct in the last half of 1998
(14 out of 18), 100% for 1999 and 100% for 2000 (YTD) for a 29 month period
of 92%+ correct. Who knows what the future will bring (besides the Shadow)?
We are still reviewing another modification to H700 that appears to improve
it by about 10%. In addition, we have received another indicator from the
Mount today that we have to start testing as well. The modification testing
is further along, but the new indicator from the Mount just might assist us
in adding in some trend information as well. Supposedly, the hermit (our
dad) says this new one will work with all commodities and stocks. We'll
see, :)
I'll list the stocks and futures we bought after the open, but with a little
luck, by the time we get our next signal, the market should be higher than
the open tomorrow.
Happy trading,
Guy
Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be
changed regularly and for the same reason.
