Your solution for Problem #1 are one's minimal basic settings for that part's section
of the Convert's Options dialog window.
Note: that they are Optional and not the factory default settings, but mere one's own
minimal required settings for error free conversioning, no matter what Source Type.
>From the DL-Help:
"Date Range. Type the First date and Last date for the range of data you want to convert.
Choose the Use today's date checkbox so the Last date box will always
contain the today's date (by default)."
Then by leaving the First date box empty, the DL program will automatically use all the
dates that are present in the Source file and this personal setting is also part of
one's basic settings(above).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your problem #2 seems to be a default (build-in)conversion setting for the AIQ data ONLY.
Eg in that the DL program will convert full weeks only, thereby automatically creating Dates and
values (<the "0"s for what you think are "Holidays">) for any of the missing Dates in the source files,
but were basicaly these dates will only be true Holidays if the Data file's records than also
contains the word "Holiday" in each record row's Cells.
>From the DL-Help:
"A holiday record is created by entering the value "32767" in each of the data fields
(i.e., open, high, low, close, vol, o/i) for those days on which a holiday falls. The DownLoader
will display the word "Holiday" in each of the price fields when this special record is entered."
These Dates are also the "Holidays" that the MSK program is refering to, when you check the
"Show Holidays" optional setting in the MSK program.
Now, if your Data File's records holds the Date and accompanying 0's (zero's) for OHLCV columns,
<eg thus not the word "Holiday">, than you can tell that the DL program converts up to FULL weeks
only and also ONLY especialy for the AIQ for Source Type option. This as the DL program will not
behave in this manner for any of the other Source Type file option's (eg ASCII, Excel, MetaStock etc.),
and in this meaning also that Convert will automaticaly create any missing weekdays when they are
plain missing in your (adjecing+consequtive) AIQ Source File(s) conversion sessions.
Odd behaviour it is indeed. So, send Lynn (from EqSupp) a suggestion reply, since that her mail to the List
(dated 0329) has her mentioning that the AIQ errors were fixed (which they obviously have, since the
above is not an error, but mere very unpractical DL behavior results on the user's end).
