Dear list,
Please allow me to make one small correction to the attached email
pertaining to Current Problem #1..
To Convert current data from AIQ to MetaStock I first changed the date
in the cmos to the next day's date then in the DownLoader's
Convert-Options-Destination-Date Range, I set the Last date to
tomorrow's date and clicked on "Use today's date". The cmos needs to
reflect tomorrow's date.
Sorry for my mistake.

Subject: "Convert" AIQ data
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Dear list,
One hesitates to annoy the list with such mundane problems but while
waiting to receive a solution from the Equis Support group, I am taking
such liberty.
With assurances that the new and improved EOD MetaStock including the
DownLoader v7.01, would allow Converting AIQ data without problems, I
purchased the new product(s) and am now faced with the following
problems:
Problem #1: Converting the current EOD data from AIQ to MetaStock.
In order to accomplish this task, I found it necessary to "trick" the
program into thinking that, for instances, May 01, 2000 is not May 01,
2000 but is May 02, 2000. I do this with the following settings:
I enter the DownLoader and click Tools, Convert, Options, Date Range and
set the Last date to tomorrow's date. I then click on "Use today's
date". The same effect can be accomplished by setting the machine's
cmos date ahead one day. (One must remember to reset this date after
Converting.)
Am I making incorrect settings or does Equis have a fix so that this
manipulation is unnecessary?
Current Problem #2: When Converting AIQ data, The DownLoader places
zeros (0) in the following holiday fields for all holidays of all
symbols, <open>, <high>, <low>, <close>, <vol>.
These zeros are reflected in the charts and make chart analysis somewhat
awkward. (Note: I copied AIQ data to ASCII and found NO zeros in
either the holiday or in the weekend fields in question. It seems that
AIQ simply ignores these days.)
This is the settings I use: I enter MetaStock and click on Tools,
Options and Chart Options. In the Dates section, I do not check either
the "Show Holidays" or "Show Weekends". I leave these blocks unchecked.
Is there something that I am doing incorrectly or does Equis have a fix
that they would care to share?
I will appreciate your responses and hopefully your solutions.
Regards,
Bob Meddleton
