<DIV><FONT size=2>Paula (or anyone else who has looked into this)-</FONT></DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; When you get a "server disconnect" does
MS/eSignal automatically attempt reconnect every few seconds to get you back up
and running or do you have to be there to catch the disconnect and manually go
through&nbsp;steps or actions (keystrokes, system reboots, etc.) to re-establish
the connection?&nbsp; How is data refilled during outages whether they are a few
seconds or a few minutes?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; DBC has contacted me a few times and told
me that they will eventually phase out their DBC broadcast (cable box and
satellite delivered quotes).&nbsp; They've asked me to switch from a
Signal&nbsp;cable receiver box to eSignal, but I haven't for many reasons.&nbsp;
We use Time Warner cable and also use their "Road Runner" internet
service.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I've found that DBC's broadcast signal
(their cable box connected to cable) is more reliable than eSignal. At present,
the only time I lose my DBC data connection is if I lose&nbsp;cable TV signal
(because the DBC signals are carried on the back of channel signals - CSPAN, AMC
and others).&nbsp; I do not lose cable TV signal very often.&nbsp; </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; However, when connected to the internet
through&nbsp;Time Warner's Road Runner service, I frequently am unable to
connect to the internet or if I am already connected I will&nbsp;lose connection
to the&nbsp;Road Runner server.&nbsp; There are some technical reasons for this
due to the area in the signal band that road runner uses (differentiated from
the band where cable programming signals are carried) is as well as the Road
Runner service system itself.&nbsp;&nbsp;</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; What it comes down to is that I've not
switch to eSignal because&nbsp;our cable modem internet service (Time Warner's
Road Runner) is 1) unreliable in connection whether using dynamic&nbsp;IP
address or static&nbsp;(dedicated) IP address (twice as expensive),
</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 2)&nbsp;Road Runner CS and technical
support is not geared toward real time problem solving or&nbsp; customer service
solutions.&nbsp; For example,&nbsp;</FONT><FONT size=2>it takes 2 other
subscribers&nbsp;(total of three) in your immediate service area&nbsp;to also
report lack of Road Runner access&nbsp;to get&nbsp;TWX technical reps physically
out to reset the local servers and start checking&nbsp; connections&nbsp;between
the server and each home reporting outages in the local server
area.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; This means that if you are smart enough to
determine that your connection problem is in fact a Road Runner system problem
and not on your own PC, then you must call your neighbors first and inquire if
they can access Road Runner&nbsp;service.&nbsp; If their service is not working,
then you must convince the&nbsp;neighbor to report their Road Runner outage it
to TWX, which can sometimes mean (you and your neighbor) waiting on hold on the
telephone for 20-30 minutes or longer (with wait times not quite as&nbsp;bad as
trying to&nbsp;contacting DBC customer service for tech support).</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I could go on with more detail, but I think
you get the point(s).&nbsp; I'll take what I have now versus (very few outages
with my present "signal cable receiver plus" versus the many outages I would get
using my present internet access service to receive eSignal.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; To get&nbsp;back to my original
question,&nbsp;do you know how eSignal&nbsp;resets/reconnects itself (and how MS
resumes data connection) during data outages?</FONT></DIV>

I'm not commercialy active and as such am therefore also unbiased.

The Diamantiferous-mail's signals are all current and have a (large) following.
The signals can be used as described or for confirmation of one's
own signals. I have also been posting these mails for over a year now,
not receiving any complaints but only very possitive encouragements
to continue to post them, eg they help other Listers in staying atop of things.
The bitterness of not having this succesfull system in one's own MSK program
is understood, but the underlay is legaly not to be made available.

In the last 3 years I have posted well over 200+ formulas to the List.
Also have helped the same amount of Listers with writing their formulas etc..
This served us both: mine + their writing skills and they ending up having their
formula: indicator/exploration/test/system/expert.
Not one(1) single dime I got paid for providing all this, eg it was all provided for free.
Let me know if you can beat this track record (Take a hint?).

Ton Maas
