<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> Re:lose of data- There are 2

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> 1)If you use Data on Demand you can
call up the stock, future etc and just merge that data with any files you may be
collecting in the realtime folder. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> 2) If there has been a disconnect or
any dropped data during the day I also use QCollector to patch or
verify. Qcollector allows the import of data from QFeed in increments from
intraday data at 0 interval(time & sales record) thru to historical
data. You choose the time period. Also with Qcollector if there are items you
wish to begin following on an intraday basis (and don't use Data on Demand)you
can import intraday history(1 min files are the basis for Esignal) copy it to
Metastock and begin collecting realtime the next day QCollector very
handy and can also be used with Tradestation. <A

<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Paula (or anyone else who has looked into
this)-</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> When you get a "server disconnect" does
MS/eSignal automatically attempt reconnect every few seconds to get you back
up and running or do you have to be there to catch the disconnect and manually
go through steps or actions (keystrokes, system reboots, etc.) to
re-establish the connection? How is data refilled during outages whether
they are a few seconds or a few minutes?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> DBC has contacted me a few times and told
me that they will eventually phase out their DBC broadcast (cable box and
satellite delivered quotes). They've asked me to switch from a
Signal cable receiver box to eSignal, but I haven't for many
reasons. We use Time Warner cable and also use their "Road Runner"
internet service.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> I've found that DBC's broadcast signal
(their cable box connected to cable) is more reliable than eSignal. At
present, the only time I lose my DBC data connection is if I lose cable
TV signal (because the DBC signals are carried on the back of channel signals
- CSPAN, AMC and others). I do not lose cable TV signal very
often. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> However, when connected to the internet
through Time Warner's Road Runner service, I frequently am unable to
connect to the internet or if I am already connected I will lose
connection to the Road Runner server. There are some technical
reasons for this due to the area in the signal band that road runner uses
(differentiated from the band where cable programming signals are carried) is
as well as the Road Runner service system itself. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> What it comes down to is that I've not
switch to eSignal because our cable modem internet service (Time Warner's
Road Runner) is 1) unreliable in connection whether using dynamic IP
address or static (dedicated) IP address (twice as expensive),
</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> 2) Road Runner CS and technical
support is not geared toward real time problem solving or customer
service solutions. For example, </FONT><FONT size=2>it takes 2
other subscribers (total of three) in your immediate service area to
also report lack of Road Runner access to get TWX technical reps
physically out to reset the local servers and start checking
connections between the server and each home reporting outages in the
local server area.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> This means that if you are smart enough
to determine that your connection problem is in fact a Road Runner system
problem and not on your own PC, then you must call your neighbors first and
inquire if they can access Road Runner service. If their service is
not working, then you must convince the neighbor to report their Road
Runner outage it to TWX, which can sometimes mean (you and your neighbor)
waiting on hold on the telephone for 20-30 minutes or longer (with wait times
not quite as bad as trying to contacting DBC customer service for
tech support).</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> I could go on with more detail, but I
think you get the point(s). I'll take what I have now versus (very few
outages with my present "signal cable receiver plus" versus the many outages I
would get using my present internet access service to receive
eSignal.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> To get back to my original
question, do you know how eSignal resets/reconnects itself (and how
MS resumes data connection) during data outages?</FONT></DIV>

Hello A.J.,
AJM> I'm not commercialy active and as such am therefore also unbiased.
you may not be commercially active right now, but you show every sign
that you're trolling for future potential clients.
AJM> The Diamantiferous-mail's signals are all current and have a (large) following.
Jim Jones of Guyana had large following also, so it would neither
surprise me nor impressed me you have large following. For I know
there are many more ignorant people in the world that are smart
people.
AJM> The signals can be used as described or for confirmation of one's
AJM> own signals. I have also been posting these mails for over a year now,
AJM> not receiving any complaints but only very possitive encouragements
AJM> to continue to post them, eg they help other Listers in staying atop of things.
if you do have a following, it would seem appropriate to start your
own mail list for free, that is if you cant afford to run your own
mail server mail list etc. it's my understanding that you started posting
on the Murray math list, can explain what happened there?
AJM> The bitterness of not having this succesfull system in one's own MSK program
AJM> is understood, but the underlay is legaly not to be made available.
why would I be bitter, when it seems like it is you who is trying to
teach himself to trade by typing out loud? And is far is not having
a system, it seems as though you're the one who needs a system. I
generally trade and keep my mouth shut when it comes to bragging
about trading family money, and all the accomplishments I've done.
While I am very vocal on many mail list, you will be hard pressed to
see where I've ever bragged about winning. rather I preach the caution
of risk and the experiences I've had losing, if for no other reason
than that is typically the trait of successful traders. which I
aspire to become one day. ; - )
AJM> In the last 3 years I have posted well over 200+ formulas to the List.
wow good for you, and good for those who benefited. you still must
have a fishing license if you're going to troll on a list.
AJM> Also have helped the same amount of Listers with writing their formulas etc..
AJM> This served us both: mine + their writing skills and they ending up having their
AJM> formula: indicator/exploration/test/system/expert.
AJM> Not one(1) single dime I got paid for providing all this, eg it was all provided for free.
AJM> Let me know if you can beat this track record (Take a hint?).
I haven't been on this list but only since November 1999, shortly after
I purchased Meta Stock RT, and I've been a technician user since day
one. So that you know I personally post at my own expense various mail
list and have for years. I have never kept count of all the code
that are posted during last three years but I did post about
200 pieces of code in about 24 hour period once. so I feel like I'm
certainly qualified to go toe to toe with you, on behalf of those
who might have been deceived.
