First, including of a recorder option has been send to JB + the AutoIt list(see below), list
that's run + monitored by the AutoIt developer and owner Johnathan Bennett
mailto:jbennett@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
But to write scripts in a very easy manner, use Notepad or download the very advanced
AutoIt Editor(see below), a tool created by one of the thousands of list members.

For the 'help in holding hands', join the AutoIt list too, eg like you too have joined the XL-list,
but now a list with hunderd times more users/listers/members ww asking questions
+ giving away the same short but true quality replies. From programmers to system
managers to system engineers to all other types of professional and ALSO MANY private
PC users, i.e. including traders are contributing list-members.
Its's nowhere near a chatbox like the Metastock List has become of late, neither are stupid
and the silly time-waisting mails been send-in, eg all are very direct quality discussions,
responses and tips&tricks on the many possibilities in the use of the AutoIt program itselve
and its use in an automation environment in Windows, using it too in combination with other
types of scripting programs or programming langauages. Join the AutoIt list

There have been some 940+ mails been posted to the AutoIt list so far and some members
have offered to make one or more faq-files from them, these faq files will then also be made
available for download. See the link for the first ever faq-zip that's been created from 580+
issues, minimaly ranging from 2/9/00 to 5/15/00 (+is suppose to be updated over time)
http://www.fredotech.com (the link is on the first page).

See attached JPG and the link to view all the old mails that were ever sent
http://autoit.listbot.com/

There is also the frame version of the Help file (for better readable printing output of file)
and has also been created by a list member and is a (near complete) manual by itselve
http://freefinds.cjb.net

There is also the AutoIt Editor(zipped 2.2Mb), with a Helping guide for the commands.
All of the AutoIt commands are listed on the left, and double clicking any one of them will
bring up a dialog with all of the options for that command. Most of the commands can be
figured out by just their name. For instance:
- 'WinActivate' sets the selected window as the active window
- 'WinGetActiveTitle' gets the title of the active window, etc...
It is available on the AutoIt home site or on the member creator's site
http://www.LKei.com

There are also the user example scripts made available, eg with scripts send-in being
added over time
http://www.hiddensoft.com/AutoIt/v2_0_Examples/index.html

There is also the AutoIt ActiveX extension file (that includes more different commands) been
made available, for use with WSH/VBScript, although it should work fine from any language
capable of using ActiveX components
http://www.hiddensoft.com/AutoIt/AutoItX.htm#Table of Contents

There is also the AutoIt2.exe file, that can compile one's scripts into executable exes
http://www.hiddensoft.com/AutoIt/AutoItX.htm#Aut2Exe - Convert Scripts To .Exes
