I use TC2000, instead of exporting to Metastock, export to TC2000 v3.0, it will put its
stocks in directories. I.E. - All stocks that begin with A will be in the A directory, etc. then I
use the downloader to import them to metastock. You have to check the recurse
subdirectories options in the downloader to import them all. So for example, if I have a
telechart scan to pull out all stocks with sales growth rates above 50% over the last 5 years
and call it (top sales rates - for example), I will export that list to a directory named the same,
then import with the downloader to a directory under metastock named the same. ( I do a
smart export to delete out tickers not on today's scan and add the new ones). I then create a
list in explorer to tag all directories A-Z under the scan name and do scans based on my
indicators after doing a fundamental scan. Clear as mud??? Anyway, it is still a 3 step
process because I'm not very good with any type of scripting to automate it.....(1. export to
tc2000 v3, 2.Covert with downloader, 3. do exploration inside Metastock). The file formats
are a little clunky so it takes about 25-30 minutes for me to do steps 1 and 2, (i usually start
them when I eat dinner). Hope this helps..
