Status:
Ton and all:
A curious problem I have related to this, is a Windows98 User Resources
"leak" that is now so bad I have to reboot mid-day. Overnight, MetaStock
Pro 7 will consume and not release up to 20% of available resources.
Stated another way, if I have 60% remaining resources when I reboot in the
evening and restart MS7, when I check in the morning I'll have only 40%
remaining. Once I start opening charts in the morning (and heaven forbid
if should actually download e-mail), the remaining resources are quickly
taken up and not released.
Anybody else experiencing this?
I'll do the things you recommend below, but this will only postpone the
need to reboot. Any thoughts on why the leak is happening and how to fix
it?
Regards.

Not exactly Win2000 related, mere generaly:
Error message translated reads: "Lack in Memory resources".
A few solutions/workarounds that comes to mind quickly :
1.-Free up MEM (close other Active or otherwise Open programs) + (do a
reboot regularly)
2.-Enlarge swap-file(Control Panel, max limit would be appr. 1/2 disk
size, other 1/2 is than for system etc.)
3.-Put in (plenty) more RAM
4.-On template get rid of "superflous" indicators, text, Expert Advisors
and other stuff)
5.-with 2 weeks interval, Run Scandisk+Diskfrag
6.-Delete any ScreenSavers
7.-a. Write new Autoexec.bat+Config.sys files that only loads the WIN
sessions minimum requirements and
then do a reboot to WIN (hold the CTRL key down while OK-ing the
Start|EndTask/Reboot to WIN window)
b. Note here that basicaly both the Autoexec.bat + Config.sys can be
empty files, eg not holding any lines.
{WIN will use Default settings}
c. also hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and unload all unnecessary loaded
"progs/drivers"
8. Write an AutoIT or ScriptIT script (to have these steps "7.a-c" done
automaticaly for you, eg prior to your
session instance's start)
