"With their CD verification, Equis has already taken the first
step. Whether or not they decide to increase their security
procedures is up to them. Whatever they do, we won't have a choice.
It is, after all, their software and their company"

Equis has taken a first step alright - backwards. In case you haven't
noticed that's the wrong direction.

OK, maybe they have a problem with being ripped off, but it's their
problem, why are they making it ours?? Creating a CD nuisance isn't the
answer.

We are, after all their customers, their reason for existence, without us
they aren't. Why beat us up?

BTW, I'm still waiting to hear about something meaningful in the 7.0
upgrade? Nothing there but a couple of tweaks and a nuisance? This may
well be the first one I've skipped. Too bad.

Hey Lionel, adapted this joke from a MicroSoft joke - seems apropos -
hope you all get a chuckle.

September 21, 1999 (Seattle) -- Equis announced today
that it will provide office
furniture with its software.
The next release of
MetaStock(R),
code named Naugahyde, will
include the 'Explorer
Chair(R)'
at no extra charge.
“This is a natural for us,” an Equis spokesperson said.
“We've conquered the PC charting market, so we’re looking at ways of
expanding our installed base.” The spokesperson denied
accusations that bundling constitutes an unfair competitive
advantage. “We’re just listening to our customers. They
keep
asking for more built in features, and who doesn't use a
chair when they’re at their computer? Especially when
they’re waiting for
MetaStock(R)
to reboot.”

Beta testers noted its large footprint and found the chair to
lack substantial features found in most of the competition (like a seat
cushion).
But when asked if they dislike it enough to purchase another
vendor’s furniture, most stated that they would just take
what Equis had to offer. ("After all it's their
software").

Also in the works is a small seat, dubbed the 'MetaStock
Stool(R)',
soon to be bundled with laptops. Beta testers were surprised
to find the backless, cushionless chair at their doorsteps. “Then
again,
this isn't the first time we've received a shrink-wrapped
stool sample from Equis,” noted one customer.

Hope folks can take a joke,
Yes, I made it to this page, but the order quantity comes up empty
as if it might not have accepted my order number or initials. I'll
get them on the phone today--not to worry. But did you see the
link to the Murphy add on software? If so, where is it?
