If I remember correctly, it had something to do with the scaling options
used during plotting. I believe the person made the mistake of not
using the right Y-axis. The person simply "overlayed". Left
click on the MA so that it is highlighted (you should see small boxes on
the MA). Right-click on the MA, choose "scaling." Choose "Merge
with scale on right." If that doesn't work, then highlight the actual
price bars, and change the scaling to "Display New Scale on Right."
Then change the scale for the MA to "Merge with scale on right."
Also, make sure you match the type of Y-axis you are comparing MS to
the other program: Either Logarithmic or standard.

I
know this question was asked some time ago but I can't find the answer
in my archives. When plotting simple moving averages[50,200,etc] I'm getting
results that differ when compared to identical simple moving averages plotted
by other programs. The other comparisons are identical with each other
but differ by a wide margin when compared to MetaStock's . Is this a problem
with my software or am I incorrectly plotting this average somehow? Could
it be an incorrect default setting for an ending date or what? Thank you.
