Kaplana,
Not sure exactly what you are asking for, but I will assume that you want
end of day historical data for the Dow and Nasdaq. If that is the case,
click on the following link for the end of day data.
http://chart.yahoo.com/d?s=^DJI
Then once you are on that page, go to the bottom of the web page and click
the "download spreadsheet format button". Depending on your web browser, it
will either save the file to a disk (*.csv Comma Separated Values) file, or
open MS Excel in your browser and allow you to begin working with the file
directly from your browser.
You need to do three things with the spreadsheet then. 1) Insert a column
(A) and in the first row, type in "TICKER". Then copy the string/text "DJIA"
in all the rows of column A. 2) Change the date format to mm/dd/yy. Finally,
3) save the file as an MS Excel 4.0 format spreadsheet. Close the browser/
or Excel.
Next, you will need to import the file into Metastock. To do so, you will
need to convert the data from MS Excel to Metastock format. Go to the MS
Downloader and user the Convert function to do this. Here are the steps. I
will assume that the file DJIA.xls is in the C:\TEMP directory, and that you
Metastock data is in the C:\METASTOCK directory.
1. Select Tools|Convert from "The Downloader"
2. Source: File Type = Excel, Folder = C:\TEMP, Filename = DJIA.XLS
3. Destination: Filetype = Metastock, Folder = C:\METASTOCK
4. Click the Options|Destination tab and make sure "Create new files" is
checked.
5. Begin the conversion.
This should get the EOD data into Metastock, and I know you can chart
because you have an 80% success rate in your TA.
Good luck.
David

Kaplana:
Metastock doesn't sell data. Its parent, Reuters does sell data.
You can get excellent charts and daily information on the indices at web
sites like wallstreetcity.com and at bigcharts.com
Both these sites also allow you to put a number of indicators on the charts.
